You have no favorite boards.
For those checking out the site for the first time, here are some site features I wanted to highlight and bring to your attention as you get use to your new home.
If you haven’t checked out the mobile version of the site, do it now. It’s easy to read and user friendly especially the message boards. If you are on a smart phone or tablet, the site automatically defaults to our mobile version. We do not have any Apps yet, but we’ll eventually be adding them. However, you can still create a shortcut to the site by adding the site to your home screen of your phone or tablet.
One of the best features on mobile is that you can upload photos directly from your smart phone to the message board.
In an effort to communicate a more accurate evaluation of prospects and recruiting classes for fans, 247Sports launched the 247Composite rating/ranking system for college football and basketball recruiting.
The 247Composite Rating is a proprietary algorithm that compiles prospect "rankings" and "ratings" listed in the public domain by the major media recruiting services. It converts average industry ranks and ratings into a linear composite index capping at 1.0000, which indicates a consensus No. 1 prospect across all services.
The 247Composite Rating is the industry's most comprehensive and unbiased prospect ranking and is also used to generate 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings.
247Sports has the industry’s most advanced player page complete with 247Sports rankings and 247Composite rankings, player timeline, school interests, photo and video archive, Twitter feed, stats and more.
The timeline is a snapshot of prospect’s recruitment, which highlights offers, unofficial visits, in-home visits, accolades, etc. Timeline is also available on college player profiles so you’ll be able to track career high games, accolades and other events during a player’s college career.
Located on the player page, 247Sports has cross referenced the player database with over 1,000 college sports and recruiting experts for a specific Twitter feed.
For years, the focus of a player database has always been around what the prospect is thinking and where he is leaning. Now we have the ability for our team site experts and recruiting analysts to paint the picture from the school’s prospective with our targets feature.
In the middle of April, we’re going to release a handful of additional features to the player database. Here’s a sneak peek at two of the features we think you’ll enjoy.
Ratings and Rankings History
Users will now be able to follow from start to finish the ratings and rankings for each prospect. The product shows both ratings and rankings from 247Sports (our team of national analysts) and 247Composite (industry-generated). Users can compare the two and see the progress of a recruit from the time he’s been entered into our database until he signs with a school.
This feature allows the entire 247Sports network of national and team reporters to put their reputations on the line and predict where prospects are going to school. It also records the date. We are going to open this feature up to other recruiting analysts too. Any recruiting report from a major media company (competing networks, papers, sports media) can also predict destinations. The Crystal Ball will give individual predictions and a prediction from a group of analysts. In the future, users will be allowed to participate in the prediction process.
