I look forward to you guys competing on the same level some day soon. Hopefully.
very impressive recent history, but your time in the sun will be coming to end soon, duckling
58-42-5 (despite impressive recent history)
not likely to be long (especially once the NCAA finishes up its current investigation)

Realdawgs "Voice of Reason"
Why is it that duck fans think college football just started in the past 9 years? Ask them how many rose bowl trophies they have or how many NT trophies they have. That usually shuts them up because when it comes to that they're amateurs. Still little brother, so big brother was hobbled up for a few years, we're still big brother and we own the series and got the history and trophies to prove it. When we played for national championships, we won those games.
While I like your overall sentiment, let's be realistic. The Yucks have owned the Dawgs for more than just a few years. And given the moniker of the Zero fan, I am guessing he (or she) was not around for 1974's 66-0 pasting (largest margin of victory in series). Nor does he remember Husky 6-game winning streaks in 1974-79 and 81-86).

Zero fans OMG time to click on the Ignore.
Big welcome to you all. Really excited to play you guys in your new house this year. Sark, Tosh and Wilcox & Co. have Washington headed the right way. Looking forward to much vitriol, angst and friendly fire between our fanbases...
Puppy fans still think football from the 90's matters lol.....here is a reality check. You guys are the only ones talking about your "great" football history in the 80"s and 90's. Everyone else doesn't give a damn haha puppy fans seem to think every year is their "comeback" year, well oregon runs the northwest now and the huskies are not relevant. Welcome to 247 and I hope you get used to losing to oregon for atleast the next 10 years. Keep hoping the ncaa investigation goes bad for oregon (it won't) because That is all you have :)
I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud, but it wasn't just the 80s and 90s, the Huskies won the 1961 national title, The Huskies had the longest winning streak in the conference for winning seasons. The 60s (Rose Bowls NT), 70s (Rose Bowls) 80s (Rose Bowls, Orange Bowls and voted NT) in 84 in some publications) 90s (Rose Bowls, NT) and Rose Bowl win in 2000. Some publications have Washington winning 4 national titles (61, 84, 90 and 91)
No one can take away the accomplishments the Ducks have had in the past few years, but to be fair you can't take away the history at Washington either. What's a few years of struggling compared to a 100?
Two national titles, 15 conference titles, 7 Rose Bowl titles...Now that's tradition. If it weren't, don't you think Oregon would own the series against more teams? There's only two schools who own 95% of their opponents in this conference and that's USC and Washington. UCLA is right in there too, but Oregon is a Johnny Come Lately and so what? Be proud of what your program has done. Right now you are staring down the barrel of a gun with this NCAA thing and it won't be a good time for you, but don't say "Washington hopes we go on probation so they can come back", Oregon benefited from Washington's probation during the early 90s, and later from the coaching carousel that besieged the Husky football program. But Sarkisian started rebuilding the Husky program from the time he got to Washington and that was before the Willie Lyles scandal started.
I'm just trying to be the voice of reason here. Husky fans are sick of Ducks, true -- it's a rivalry. Most of them remember the days of going to games at Autzen and outnumbering Ducks fans 10 to 1. I think it's the vitriol and lack of recognition or respect for what a program has accomplished as a whole. This is why Husky fans and Michigan and Nebraska and even LSU fans have a mutual respect because they have long memories and not just short-term memories.

Looks like the rivalry has already found it's way onto the boards....
I love people that live in the past. Husky fans are like the kid that was the star QB in HS, never left his hometown of 8,000 people, works as a laborer making $10/hr and sits at the bar every night talking about how he scored 3 tds in the state championship back in 1975.
Meanwhile, little brother grew up, went to college, learned a few things and is now sitting on a tropical beach drinking a ice cold beer with a Smokin hot lady at his side.
You live in the past with your 3 tds "big brother" I'll enjoy my beach and babe in the present.
Question -- what will happen when your present becomes your past? Will you just forget it? If you hit rough spots? Does the dominance you've had the past few years suddenly just mean nothing? Just curious. I don't want to flame, and that's not my place to do so because I'm a publisher, but this is a serious question. What will be the Ducks benchmark if they hit tough years here and there?
Do you honestly believe there's one Husky fan on this board who ever thought, in their most paranoid dreams, that the Huskies would go 0-12? It can happen to anyone, any time. Things can unravel and just implode in ANY program. You need to realize, college football didn't just start in the last 6 years -- it's been going on for over 100 years. You have to respect the game and ITS past, in order to know what to expect in the future :-) And it goes in cycles. You won't be happy every year, believe me. You won't be flipping off program's fanbase who have a stronger tradition and richer history. You will then learn to respect the champions of the past, present, and future.
I respect Bama, Michigan, even USC because they don't act high and mighty over the Ducks. Hell even Bama gives the Ducks respect. Husky fans however, are laughable because they refuse to give credit where credit is due. All they do is point to the past. Personally, I could care less but if you want to know why Oregon fans hate UDub its because of their extreme arrogance. And trust me, I know what the bottom of the Pac-10 feels like. Husky fans made sure we knew where we stood. But we hit a lick and Uncle Phil brought his money and marketing machine home and its great. So turnabout is fair play. Sucks doesn't it? Ruth you seem to be asking for sympathy? And I know, we will fall eventually and it will suck but right now I'm going to enjoy the ride.
And just fyi, contrary to what you are telling people we aren't going to "slammed" by sanctions.
Anyway, I really just wanted some good hearted banter but it seems to have went south so I'll head back to DuckTerritory.
It's easy with these duck fans. If they are going to be rude just ignore them like I have with duckedup.
Not asking for sympathy, just realization. I haven't told anyone Oregon is getting "slammed", however I don't think it's going to have a happy outcome either. I think Oregon lost round 1 when they weren't able to get by with the summary disposition. Going before the committee on infractions usually spells some sort of doom. I do know Husky fans have been humbled a ton over how badly things went during this century, but a little humility never hurt anyone :-)
Husky fans humbled? Hahahahahaha lets be serious ruth
Well when my husband doesn't care because there's a power outage and we can't watch TV when the Huskies are playing Notre Dame in 2008? That's humbled, "Honey I can check the score on my phone", Husband: "Don't bother, I don't give a ***"
Welcome, butt puppies of the damnable black north.
Looking forward to some grade-A smack talk with ya'll.
And what's with this humbling nonsense? You guys own the most arrogant line in a fight song ever. How does that cursed tune go? BOW DOWN?! Arf.
And while we're respecting accomplishments of the past, I'll leave you with this:
Oh, please...you ducks tell us not to live in the past...
