Washington has yet to announce it's head coach for the 2014 season but some good news has come down in the last half hour. A source close to Washington defensive tackle Danny Shelton has confirmed that the junior will return for his senior season at Washington.
Shelton, a 6-foot-1, 327-pound defensive lineman committed to Washington out of Auburn High School in Auburn, Wash., and has become a key figure in the Huskies defensive line.
Playing in all 12 games this season Shelton finished with 52 total tackles, 30 solo tackles, and two sacks.
Thought to be a mid second round pick in the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft it's likely that Shelton will be able to improve his draft stock with a solid senior season. In doing so Shelton will also be able to complete his degree, something he and his family have stressed from day one.
Shelton recently was named first team All-Academic in the Pac-12 for a second consecutive season.
